An entire circus travels by train – weighing 1,200 tons and 700 metres long
From 19 November to 11 December 2016 Circus Roncalli gave a guest performance in Innsbruck. The Rail Cargo Group ensured the reliable and safe transport of circus equipment by rail during the entire anniversary tour in Austria and Germany.
For several months, the entire duration of the anniversary tour, 50 two-axle flat cars were provided for transport between the various venues. For the first time, not only the transports in Austria were accompanied, but also all logistic tasks in Germany were handled. Over 80 circus caravans and trucks, various equipment such as fences and tarpaulins as well as small vehicles were transported on a 700- metre block train weighing up to 1,200 tonnes.
