What is RERail actually?

RERail - Research and Education on Rail Cargo Transport

The cooperation between the BFI Vienna University of Applied Sciences, the Logistikum Steyr, the SCHIG mbH and the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) is intended to increase awareness and knowledge of rail transport.

The mobility of people and goods is a basic prerequisite for a functioning economic system. Rail is a reliable, safe and environmentally friendly means of transport. RERail provides interested people with knowledge about the fundamentals and use of rail as a mode of transport by means of didactically valuable teaching materials.

Development of topic-specific content
On our information platform you can download various teaching materials on "rail freight transport". These services include, for example, course materials, case studies, teaching materials and lectures. Our offers can be used, adapted and shared free of charge.

The ever-increasing traffic volume necessitates the use of environmentally friendly means of transport. Integration of environmentally friendly modes of transport in training and further education, such as rail or inland navigation, is clearly in line with Austrian and EU transport as well as regional policy objectives.
